Sample making in China and sewing lead times are common requests from SWIFORT clients. Many already have a photo of a design, a finished sample or simply a product idea, but have not found a suitable manufacturer.
We help organize clothing production directly with factories in China. First, we clarify the design, size chart, fabric, color and trims. We then select a manufacturer that specializes in that type of clothing and commission the first sample.
The sample can be refined by changing the fit, material, length, details or sizing. Bulk production starts only after full approval.
Sample making lead times
Typical lead times vary by product category:
- Dresses: around 2 days.
- Jeans: around 3 days.
- Jackets: 7-10 days.
- Swimwear: 1-2 days.
- Footwear: around 10 days.

Bulk production lead times
Once the sample is approved, the factory starts the main production run. Average lead times are:
- Dresses: 7-10 days.
- Jeans: 5-8 days.
- Jackets: around 15 days.
- Swimwear: 5-9 days.
- Footwear: around 15 days.
The exact lead time depends on the order volume, availability of fabric and trims, design complexity and the factory’s workload.
On-site support from sample to finished batch
The SWIFORT team is based in China and works directly with Chinese factories. We can personally oversee production, inspect the finished batch and resolve issues with the factory before the goods are shipped.
The client receives clothing manufactured to their brand’s requirements, from the first sample to the finished batch, rather than an existing product from a Chinese catalog.
SWIFORT provides a team in China to coordinate the factory, samples and batch inspections, with an interpreter on site.
