A client planned to buy fleece wholesale from China to make warm clothing. The supplier offered an attractive price, but checking the samples before placing a large order revealed a serious risk.
The problem
The fabric’s actual weight was lower than stated, and its surface quality varied between samples. Without this check, the resulting garments could have been too thin and quickly lost their shape, while the rolls could have differed in shade and texture.
What we did
We selected another manufacturer and documented the requirements for the forthcoming batch in the technical specifications:
- Fiber composition and required fabric weight.
- Fabric width.
- A reference color.
- Pile quality and direction.
- Resistance to washing.
- Allowable shrinkage.
Before production began, we obtained new samples, checked them, and approved a reference sample. During manufacturing, we monitored whether the fabric met the agreed specifications.
The result
The client received quality wholesale fleece from the manufacturer, with no noticeable differences in fabric weight or shade between rolls. The material was suitable for making warm clothing and retained its appearance after a test wash.
Why a low price can signal a risk
Price is only one consideration when sourcing fabric. An unusually low price may conceal lower fabric weight, inconsistent fiber composition, uneven pile, or differences between batches. A sample, documented specifications, and production monitoring help protect the buyer against these risks.
SWIFORT helps source wholesale fleece in China, check samples, monitor production, and arrange delivery of the finished batch.
